today, I found a memory,
it hovered near my eyes,
beseeched me to relive it,
in its thoughts, feel high.
forget where I am now,
and travel back in time,
to smile at the sorrows,
that I once called mine.
“then, you can move on”,
βonly thenβ, it said again,
βcan you forget the pain.β

FRIST!
Yep. Gonna do that here, as well!
Sometimes memories have hooks. But I guess they let go easier with time.

Yep. Y’all iz frist, Lizzi π
Easier with time, and easier with acceptance too, I think. π Though it takes time to accept sometimes O:-)
(Vinay Leo R. recently posted… Moving on…)
Yes. Definitely. Meantime we hope to get hooked less frequently, I guess.
(Considerer recently posted… Ten Things of Thankful #68)
Yeah, I guess so, Lizzi π

Sometimes only that memory is what can give you strength to move ahead…

Yeah. But it feels heavier when you are sad for it, I think. Thanks Bjorn π

WOW! Beautifully worded, Vinay.. But the question still persists, “can you forget the pain.” Loved it!
(Vinitha recently posted… Conflict of Interest)
Yeah, it’s a pesky persistent question for sure, Vinitha. π But we should if it holds us back.
(Vinay Leo R. recently posted… Moving on…)
This was beautiful. Subtly. Quite nicely done.

Some memories keep haunting. Moving on takes lot of courage. Great poem. π

Courage, and patience. π Thanks, Payal.

The only way to deal with bad memories is face to face… then we can leave it (or at least its negative effects) behind. So very true.
(Magaly Guerrero recently posted… Moon Greeting Cards and 100 Wicked Little Witch Stories Giveaway)
Yeah. The negative effects to leave behind, that’s more important. The memory might stay on, but the pain shouldn’t. Thank you, Magaly π

beautiful poem…it is difficult to forget the pain..memories creep in and hide in places least expected only to surface at weird times and places.
Yeah, but once it creeps up and we know where it was hidden, we can try to leave behind its negative effect. π Thanks, Philomel.

Healing can be quite a journey, but one that ends with freedom.
Indeed π Thank you, Susie.

It is the most difficult thing, to relive painful memories and end up smiling at them. I do not think the pain ever goes away, but you learn that you like smiling more than feeling the pain, and you slowly become stronger and learn to leave the pain behind.
(Jaibala Rao recently posted… Mix Taped Me)
I think smiling at them gives you the strength to smile at the road past them too. The pain, or the memories, they might not go away, but they don’t hold you back after you smile. Yes, you become stronger, Jb.
(Vinay Leo R. recently posted… Moving on…)
yea.. some memories, esp sad ones tend to linger!
what you have said is right.. one needs to smile and let go
nice one Leo..
you have been on a poem writing spree! π
