A letter to an old friend who seems a bit distant these days, hoping that friend will return soon.
sometimes, we move away from our families for various reasons. sometimes, for years. but we always feel like returning, and when we do, they still understand us, like just a day has passed.
And every time it creaked, he’d wonder why that stair, and if it’d break, taking his leg with it. His father told him the story that night at dinner.
“Impulsively, I throw myself overboard, landing hard into the shaken waters around us. But she doesn’t. In the moment, I forgot. She can’t swim.”
