NaPoWriMo was first held in 2003. It is an annual project where participating poets write a poem each day of April. There are optional prompts given by the site for writing. You don’t need a blog for taking part. You just need to promise yourself that you will write a poem every day of April.
why is the grass green?
and why the sky blue?
why aren’t all roses red?
and why is clear dew?
why are clouds so high?
and nothing too low?
why can only birds fly?
why can’t fishies go?
how do trains go choo?
do they have a mouth?
why bears sleep in winter?
and why birdies fly south?
why he asks questions?
how he pesters me too?
why do I not tell him off?
coz he says every day,
“Daddy, I love you”
The prompt at NaPoWriMo asks to write a poem in which all lines but the last are questions.
