“Once upon a time, there was a boy. He was very naughty, and gave his mother so much trouble, that she was worried he’ll never fall asleep. But on her birthday, he gave her the best gift of all. He drank a glass of milk and went straight to bed. And they lived happily ever after.”
As she closed the book, she noticed her son reach for the glass of milk on the side table, and drink it quickly.
She gave him a kiss and got up, delighted that her ploy worked like a charm.
As she made to open the bedroom door, she heard him call after her.
“Nice try mama, now come back and read me a proper story.”
Seven days, seven posts, that’s what the Write Tribe Festival of Words is about. The theme for Day 1 is 9 sentence fiction, to write a fiction in exactly 9 sentences.
