Shehnaz was in a fix, as she looked at Amrit, who was standing next to her.
“Why sad, Naz? Don’t be sad. I’m here with you.”
She looked at him again, and then across the room to the table near the window.
“How do I tell her about you?”
Amrit smiled, and held her hand tightly.
“Won’t she like me?”
“There has been no one else before.”
He sighed, and left her to it as he arranged the tea set.
“Why? Why did I have to have another imaginary friend?”
Six year old Shehnaz wondered as she walked toward Alia.
