April 2013 – Haiku #25

dormant volcano –
my father’s anger
waiting to erupt

Shared with April A2Z Heights Day 25, Volcano and as participation for Blogging from A to Z, Day 22 = Letter V..

(April 25th, 2013)

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.

  1. That’s the way I sometimes felt about my father, then I became a father and understood more about him. Good comparison in haiku.

  2. Nicely done. A lot of people tried the “emotion” angle with this haiku prompt, but I think you may have handled it best. There is a lot of tension in the waiting.
