Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.
I like the idea of a tamed lightning! Clever 😉
Stuck in race of time
Not so much tamed lightning, Pranita. Just the allusion that lightning seems tame in comparison to the storm within 🙂 Thanks.
I like the concept of two storms ~
Thanks, Grace 🙂
Oh, do you have lightning inside too?
Still the Storm
Lightning sometimes, but mostly clouds and thunder, MMT 🙁 Storms are such.
Fun allusion that our inner life is often more tumultuous then anything nature can offer.
Interestingly, your instructions say: “Please note: We at Haiku Heights only need the haiku to be reflective of the topic. You need not actually use the word in your haiku.”
I tried that today — you went the other direction. The inner storm can cloud our perception. 😉
Ah, the allusion is fun, but the storm within definitely isn’t, Sabio 🙁 Struggle to contain it at times.
Yeah, I know. I put the word in 😉 I do do haiku without the actual word in it, but this time went that way 😀 I read yours, and it was quite a painting of words. 🙂
Wow, so much said in such few words! fabulous!!
Thanks Meenakshi 🙂
One storm is so difficult to deal with.. No wonder even lightning would seem dimmed out..err.. I mean tamed with two storms! A different thought! 🙂
Maybe 😛 Seems easier to deal with the storm outside than the one inside. Thanks, Adg 🙂
Dearo,
Sorry, I didn’t get this 🙁
Please explain …
Thats okay, Sims 🙂 Meaning to say, the storm outside with the thunder and lightning seems very less compared to the storm we have in our heart at times 🙂
Wow! so true and deep… 🙂
I would like to call it as Bombarding of Frustration ..LOL
Perhaps it is an outcome of frustration too, Sims 🙁
Remarkable , what you did with seven words. This took my breath!
Glad you liked the haiku, and felt it remarkable, WabiSabi 🙂 Thanks.
I see this as describing many ‘storms’ in the home as opposed to our relationships with outsiders. Nicely Leo!
Hank
Thank you, Hank. It is exactly that!
Amazing … a lot said in a few words !!!
Yes, just what I wanted, GS. Just what I wanted to do.
Leo, it’s wonderful! Just wonderful. I can feel the internal storm inside. Nice pure haiku.
Every one of us has a storm inside of us I think, Lolly. Thank you for liking my haiku.
Oh…this one is just packed with meaning…love it!
Glad you love it, Martin, and the meaning is something I feel to be true too.
Nice one Leo. When two superpowers fight, the outsiders are sure to be nothing more than silent spectators!
Whoa. That offers a completely new POV to my haiku, Diwa. And it makes sense too. Thanks!
Well done, Leo. We definitely know the storms outside have limits and they will pass. Not so with what is inside us.
Absolutely right, Susan. Too tough to tame, that storm.
Powerful implied drama! Love the brief brushstroke for large thoughts!
Glad you felt my haiku to be dramatic & thought provoking, Gemma. Cheers!
It’s actually raining cats and dogs outside. Eventually, the sky will clear. It’s the storm inside us that needs more time to tame.
Sometimes, all the time in the world doesn’t seem enough to tame that storm, Christine.
I can relate to this. My poem was similar. Thunder and lightning are tame in comparison to the storm brewing inside of us …or stormy relationships…BAM!
Yes, can be both, but both are inner and scary, Rallentanda. Thanks!
two storms at the same time… can be intimidating…
Yes, especially the inner one, Tarun. Especially that one!
Even a storm within a storm I reckon.. Yes lighting seems tame then. Very nice.
That’d take it to a level I can’t handle, Bjorn. Two storms is difficult, a storm inside one of the storms would be out of this world.
Fantastic!
Thanks, Tanya
Awesome thought! Liked the way you compared the storm outside to inside…
Thanks & glad you liked the comparison Valli 🙂
Hahaha! Love the comparison. I wonder how you tamed the two storms 🙂
Ah, the storm outside tamed as the clouds parted. The one inside my heart is still there, it will take more time than the one outside. Thanks, Jolly 🙂
