Pride of a family, blessing to prayers,
Accepted by all, to their lives one day;
Brought up with many expectations, airs,
Perfect in few eyes, in each little way.
Choices not easy, did double the pride,
Freedom for freedom, happily ceded;
One mother for another – sacrificed,
To defend his nation, he proceeded.
Selflessly he battled, till his last breath,
One of many heroes to grace our land;
Let us not forget, to honor his death,
His family, heroes who did understand.
Valor in action, courage in metal,
To them a tribute, of fallen petals.
Author’s thoughts: Sometimes we forget the family of the national hero. They too are heroes of the nation, because they willingly, and with pride, sent the hero to the battlefield.
