This long winding road..

this long winding road,
takes me I know not where.

the long winding road,
I had taken once before,
took me to the entrance
of a dark endless maze;
guided by sweet voices,
I walked in its confines
till I realized the trap;
sweetness but a mask
to hide the deep malice
purposely misguiding me.

the long winding road,
I had taken once before,
took me to a heaven,
where I saw no regrets;
the souls were helpful,
was this where I’d rest?
alas, it was not meant;
they hailed my talents,
till one such was sent,
with much more a zest.

do I trust where it ends
this journey that I take?
consider it Godsend or
doubt each turn I make?
would I be living in past
if I think future is fake?

this long winding road,
takes me I know not where.

Poetry & writing to me are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.
