The mind’s quest to find the essence of the universe is something that’s been part of every one of our lives. A mind without curiosity doesn’t have the willingness to take in what the world shows us. Yet sometimes, that same curiosity refuses to accept that not everything is meant, that things can happen at random as well, and that there are more questions unanswered than answered. We begin to frame more questions than seek answers or accept randomness; thinking it can speak more in a single meaning than in unlimited ones.
Sharing this poem over a round of drinks at the Open Link Night at D’verse Poets’ Pub!

Not everything in life,
needs a fresh breath
in unknown meanings.

Yet eager our minds,
jump at opportunities
to place strangleholds
on limitless expression;
be the first of many
to state a significance,
to what is best left
free and unsignified.

Yet eager our minds,
try to portray sadness
in thoughts unrelated
afar to our daily lives.
Our meanings deviate
from what truly are
the realities of others.

Words – meaningless
till placed in context;
in worldly experiences
be they told or untold.

The Fool, one of my friends on Indiblogger, had given me a challenge, to write a piece of poetry bringing out the absurd nature of the universe and man’s futile attempts to find meaning in a meaningless universe.

Thanks, TF. Hope I can say — “Indi-Challenge Conquered!”…

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.
