I forgive you.

If only past was past;
and from many faces,
endearing memories
would not plead me
with puppy-dog eyes,
to be part of today.

If words never hurt,
and even actions too;
yet with each of yours,
you pushed a dagger,
wrenched my heart
of love it had – for you.

With each drop shed,
my blood or tears –
they speak of hatred,
of your betrayal
that is unforgivable,
seems unforgettable.

But if unforgotten,
each dream I chase,
it seems half hearted,
for my hate for you,
usurps desire I have,
to realize my goals.

So with all my heart,
I’ll forget your hate,
which resides in me;
soon perhaps, I can
and I will forget you,
and forgive happily.

Kirti asked me on my page, Inspire My Art, if I could: “Write a poem about the path you would choose when someone, say a very close personal friend(at least you THOUGHT that person was your friend) does something unforgettable and unforgivable with you and you have a very hard time trying to get over it, trying to hate that person with all your might. but when you realise that its not doing any good, this hatred stuff, what would you choose? forgiving that person who doesnt give a damn about what you do or find some other way out???”

– so, glad to say, “Art – inspired, and painted”.

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.
