Life’s poetry…

In my journey on Blogsville, I’ve come across many talented, young poets. One such poetess actually came across mine, and a friendship developed. She’s someone I’ve found wanting to learn more about poetry, and even asking me to help her out with that. She’s sweet, encouraging and a very enthusiastic blogger. When I asked her for a poem to share with my readers on a guest post, she wrote it that very same day and mailed me. I welcome my friend Kirti to my blog, and I hope you enjoy her poetry.

A bubble of joy,
transient, transparent;
reflecting rainbows
on the crescent of my palm;
its pink innocence still intact,
saved from facade, saved from acts.

A thread of dreams
delicate, dormant;
swinging, struggling
on the thorns of my life,
its unfrayed fibers still intact,
untouched by the cruelty of facts.

A pair of eyes
vibrant, alive;
holding on to that thread of dreams,
gathering along those bubbles of joy,
searching truth amidst all decoys,
wetting lashes on finding a ploy.

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.
