I am lost, forgotten in the world where I stay,
invisible, though I ain’t a million miles away;
No whispers behind my back, shouts more,
feel wanted at times, though mostly ignored.
After so many stabs, you’d think I’ve learned,
no good can come here when often spurned.
By optimism consumed, I’ve built on this lie,
that all friends are forever, even after we die.
Fool’s paradise, that’s where I always reside,
I cannot escape, cannot even say I have tried.
invisible, though I ain’t a million miles away;

November PAD Challenge Day 25. #novpad25 |
The month of November sees the Poem-a-Day (PAD) challenge, hosted by Robert Lee Brewer at Poetic Asides. Day 25 asks to write a “consumption” poem. I write on being consumed by a misconception, staying happy though its not in reality..

OSI #196 |
One Single Impression (OSI) is hosted by Sandy Carlson and Andree Sanborn every week. This week is their 196th prompt, “A Fool’s Paradise”, as suggested by me when they had opened discussions for topics.

I enjoyed this poem a lot Leo. I'd like to think that all friends remain friends even after we die too. It may be foolish but a beautiful paradise.
Hi Leo ~~ Thank you for this nice prompt. I didn't write one for OSI this week because I can't 'sign in' to Blogger on this borrowed computer.Reading this reminded me of an abused spouse, verbal abuse, who won't leave her or his mate…
This is beautiful, Leo. 🙂
