Goodbye..

Don’t point that finger at me,
I’m not the only one to blame;
this rapidly changing outlook
has made me lose all strength.

My mind’s balance has gone,
motionless with just one view,
unable to swivel, see more.

I once felt, I wouldn’t change;
I have to, to find a safety net.
Cleaning all wrong thoughts
for eloquent ones to return.

Forgive my abrupt goodbye,
in the light of a coral sunset;
I change my path to save me,
and perhaps you once again.

D’Verse – Poetics

D’verse Poets Pub is a place for poets from all over the world to gather and celebrate, improve and even learn poetry. Their feature, Poetics, is hosted by Sheila Moore this week and offers a theme “Change” as the topic for a poem.

Sunday Whirl #30

The Sunday Whirl, hosted by Brenda Warren, offers twelve or thirteen words to be put into a poem or story. This prompt, their 30th had actually come out last Sunday.. I struggled with completing it, and in the end, offer this piece with eleven out of the twelve offered words used.

Poetry & writing to me are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.

  5. @BRIAN,It's tough, but better to let go now and save both souls than hang on and suffocate one or the other. Better in the long run for sure…@LYNNE,Exactly. Thank you for dropping by and giving some kind words of appreciation..@HEAVEN,Yes, I hope that belief stays true always too!@SADAF,Not always necessary to critique, just an option of course. 🙂 Glad you liked it.@NOISELESS, @CELLO,Thanks!
