To be or not to be

To be or not to be;
that was the question.

She’s a fine little girl,
my darling, my dear;
Always there for me,
in sadness to cheer.
To see just my face,
and search my heart;
Even hear its beats,
when we’re far apart.
Today, I was fallen,
it came on my face;
She said, forget now,
you’ve had finer days.
Didn’t stop talking,
till I’d smiled again;
Knew I wasn’t all fine,
but I’d forgot pains.

To be or not to be;
that was the question.
My darling li’l sister,
I feel she’d answer it,

I’ll be and always be.

November PAD Challenge Day 9. #novpad9

The month of November sees the Poem-a-Day (PAD) challenge, hosted by Robert Lee Brewer at Poetic Asides. Day 9 theme is to take the phrase “(blank) or (blank),” replace the blanks with a word or phrase, make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then, write your poem.. I wrote on my younger sister, who’s a darling. She makes me smile, but she doesn’t have to talk to me for it, or I to her. It’s just being us I suppose, siblings. Thanks Robert for the inspiration.

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.
