My mind lies mumbling
Entrapped by a dream
Lost to burning failure
All days drag long
Nights seem much dearer
Can hope ever penetrate
Heart and dream again
Or will mind remain
Languishing under a cloud
Yearning for silver linings

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.
Wow.. Great post. Loved the style. 🙂
Writing acrostic is tough (For me at least). Nicely & Smartly crafted.
After long time, Vinay.. wats up? Good one once again..
An Acrostic after ages for your favorite topic 'Melancholy' nicely done!! Hope to see you more often there 🙂 I hope that, that hope, makes a happier appearance soon!! 🙂
What a beautiful acrostic. You make it look so easy!
liked it alot.. i am a big acrostic fan!
My Acrostics tend to be more simplistic and sillier….this evoked some strong memories in me….the silver lining is just at a hand's reach…all we need is to see. Really enjoyed it. (wonder if can I say that for a sad piece)
Thank you, Nithin …
It never is, Old Egg.. never is easy..
Melancholy ain't my favorite topic, Nanka. Just a mood I find myself in often. Will be trying to write more acrostics too, and happier ones as well. This was the only non-happy theme at AO this time na.
Thanks Prams. Nothing much up. Howz you been?
It is tough for me too, Tarang. But am glad you found mine well crafted.
Thanks, Janhvi.. 🙂
beautifully sad… and i LOVE acrostics… simply love them… they are so explicit!!
Yes, they are indeed, Kirti. I'm glad you liked it. .
You have melancholy written to a T.
Good to know. I'm just returning to Acrostics after a while, so wasn't sure. Thank you, Paige 🙂
Thank you, Rekha. I am glad you enjoyed the poem. Yes, the silver lining is there for all to see.. but we see it very rarely when melancholy is covering us..
Superb creation…
Thanks, Saru 🙂
"can hope ever penetrate" is so beautiful Vinay!
