Where have I been?
What have I lost?
This life’s a waste
Wish it stays forgot
I’m a nobody now
I was a nobody then
Unknown till a day
I picked up the pen
I wish I could say
I have not a regret
But it’d be untruth
A wrong placed bet
After all, tomorrow
Is another new day
I’ve told this forever
And I’ve lost my way
Forgotten my dream
I’ve misplaced desire
At the end of it all
Snuffed my own fire.

I have never seen regrets sound so good.
Enjoyed this,
Isadora
Ah, wish it sounded as good to me, Isadora. It just is frustrating to me.
Deeply expressed. And they come off extremely realistic.
Thanks Jojo. They ARE extremely realistic. My fears, regrets whatever it may be .. Its a true one itself.
This is a very well thought out reflection that brings the voice to an empty place, gnashing his teeth over past mistakes and faults. The communication of these thoughts and feelings is very effective, leaving the reader in sorrow and compassion (from some) and identification of bitterness over how life seems to be cruel.
Leo, keep writing. And I hope you can write yourself out of the doldrums. Keep your head up. 🙂
I hope to write myself out of the dolrums too, GSB 🙂 Thank you for the wonderful words.
Was waiting for this ‘free verse’ to see ur unrestricted thots 🙂 Nice to get another peek into ur mind.Enjoyed as always 🙂
Ah, but form doesn’t restrict me 🙂 It makes me more passionate I feel, Ann. Glad you liked my unrestricted thoughts.. Thanks!
I can hear your frustration in this, as well as sadness it seems. I hope things look up.

Thanks, Shannon 🙂 Glad you liked the poem.
Follow up A to Z challenge? I didn’t quite understand 🙂 I did come by your space.. but not much details there too, except a linky! Can you tell me a little more detail?
I hope you’ll find new dreams to sparkle you day and writing!
Here is a little thank you post http://brokensparkles.wordpress.com/2011/08/03/seasons-winners/
Yep. Let’s hope so, Blaga 🙂 Thank you. It was a fun challenge of yours, I’m still a post short with the all time favorite.
Severe dejection, typically felt over a period of time and accompanied by feelings of hopelessness and inadequacy is expressed beautifully in your well worded verse!! Cheers!!
Experiencing it makes it easier to write I guess, Nanka.. Glad you felt it was written nicely 🙂 Thanks!
Well, more than the beauty of words, there is a lot of negative feelings. that has touched me. We all have our shares, but at some places, ours seem to be the most hurting. After a long time, a poem that reveals the insecurity and some deep secretive scars, has come out.Hugs buddy. We are always somebody to someone, and especially you, are an inspiration to many :)So the word ‘nobody’ doesn’t suit you at all 🙂
Oh sure, we all have our fair shares, ADG. But when it is regrets, each is heavier than the other and in that phase, you will feel you are nobody even if you are a somebody to many people…
Loved it Leo!
Thank you, Abhra 🙂 Glad you liked it.
this sounds very frustrating Leo…
lost in your own misery,
you forget to see;
your words ignite joy
in the hearts of many like me… 🙂 🙂
life is not wasted if it brings happiness in others’ lives. you rock.. keep going(and smiling 🙂 :P)
PS: cant believe im saying all this!!
Yeah. sort of frustrating 🙂 but I’ll get through it. Are you sure you wrote the comment, and not your mom, Kirti? 😉
he he… no, no it is my own gyan im giving you for free 😛
Oh nice 🙂 Thank you. It was really good gyan, Kirti.
Hey Leo, Reading you after really a long long time. I’m sure I don’t regret. Awesome 🙂
Glad you liked it, Zainab 🙂 Thank you.
Expresses frustration well. The reader can feel it. But difficult for reader to gauge the reason for the frustration,
Hmm. Yes, TF. I knew something was missing. Just couldn’t put my finger on it. Thank you.
I hope you’ll pick up one those dreams you like follow and hang on it. Good luck.
I hope to pick up those dreams soon too, Raine 🙂 Thanks for coming here and liking what you read.
i am sorry that you’re going through this, Leo. your poetry is so evocative! i hope you come out of this phase into happier times soon. ♥
I hope to come out soon too, Dani 🙂 Thanks for liking it and feeling my poetry evocative.
Gosh. Regrets scare me. We get only one life. 🙁 This verse reminds me yet again of the importance of living in the present. Well done!
Yes, past and future does get a lot of regrets than the present I guess. Thanks, Deboshree!
