From The Rose… {Short Write}

Sometimes I like to write looking at life from the eyes of another. So, what would be the wish of a rose?

For the 64th week at Saturday Centus, and for the B words at Round 9 of ABC Wednesday. Accompanying image from THIS SOURCE, courtesy AnnieDaisyBaby at Flickr through Google Images.

Before I die, I want to live.

Breathe beautiful air of buoyant blessed spring.

But my beauty gets besotted eyes preying.

Poetry & writing to me are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.

    • I knew you would love the look and adore the header.. 🙂 As for admiration for the words and diggin the blog always, thanks and I’m glad it is good enough for that, Nimue 🙂

  1. We have lots of roses in our garden because my mother is absolutely mad about them but if anyone ever picks one flower, she’ll set out for murder.

A beautiful, beautiful poem…I love it how you say a lot in a few words

    • I live in an apartment. No space for a garden, but I’m sure my mom would be possessive of a posy if she had one. Glad you liked the writeup, Antara 🙂 Thank you!

  2. My dad=s favourite flower was the rose. At his funeral mum had a lovely yellow rose tribute – I planted a yellow rose in our garden. It is always in flower August 13th, the day he died. An important memory – which lives on.
    Lovely post

    • A rose in memory, such beautiful a rose would have become more beautiful I think, Denise. 🙂 Thank you for dropping by and sharing the memory here too.

    • Thanks, Andy. Yeah I know, your poems do have the romantic touch, and roses are quite special to a gal most of the time 😎

  3. Love the beautiful poem with all the ‘B’s. Sometimes I overlook the rose just because it is everyone’s favorite and that’s a pity.

    • Well, that is ok too I guess, sometimes other flowers deserve attention too 😎 but not cut up I guess. Thanks, ChrisJ 🙂

  4. Pink yellow red white
    Prickly bush or shrub bestows
    Pretty up-turned face

And delightfully sweet scented too that one’s senses cannot resist devouring its beauty!!

    • Senses to devour it is a different thing, but to pluck it off physically, a rose might be sad it dies so soon na? 😎 Thanks , Nanka 🙂

  5. beauty of hearts
    closely knit with love
I live forever even after death
    form of their eternal love

nice write up Leo…some words from my heart too 🙂

  6. What a unique and fascinating viewoint for this little gem.

I really enjoyed the different direction you chose to go here…and your header…it speaks to me.

    Thanks for linking up.

  7. Excellent !
After a rose is picked, it loses it’s natural luster and beauty and as it fades, it’s fragrance still lingers on and calls us to drink ever more deeply !
