Just a new beginning..

Today, I glance upon my dashboard to see a dream that is at its last step. Not mine, but a group of others. It is a place quite close to my heart, where I have shared my poetry since long, and found quite a few readers and friends; it is also a place that has helped my poetry to grow. So this poem is dedicated to them. Thanks Brian, Claudia, Adam, Pete, Gay, Chris G, Leslie.. My apologies, I can’t remember all the names perhaps! (or have I?)

The poem, written in “Free verse”, for One Shot Wednesday at One Stop Poetry.

It all began with a dream
When few came together
To join their visions; to get
The few to become many

Their vision was unique
To merge together talents
Similar feathers, one nest
And then help others too
To explore their visions

Many joined their dream
Found new friends; ideas
Took shape in moments
And from a single dream
Alighted lot many others

Today, I heard the dream
It said to me, “Goodbye”
It had reached its ending
And when I would wake
It would shimmer away

I awaken; but I wonder
How can that dream end?
It is now brighter; to me
It is only a new beginning

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.

    • You are right, Martin. I think perhaps it could have been worded better. It should be a continuation of a dream through another I guess! 😉

  1. Leo, this was beautiful and you did One Stop/One Shot proud.

A fine tribute to a once haven for some of us!

    • Kirti, the players and hosts of One Shot weren’t my first readers, technically! 🙂 But one of the memes I’ve shared my poetry most at. Thanks for enjoying my poem 🙂
