Chasing their Dreams

Cherished were their dreams
Hemmed by their thoughts
Aspirations to create success
Stories unheard of them
Instead, they slowly diminish
Nestled in the confusion
Gifted by undesired livelihood

Destiny: books and schools
Revealed to them, untouched
Eagerly they continue hoping
Another chance of fulfilment
Marred by unrelenting parents
Spilled dreams stay treasured

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.

  1. I really really liked this poem. I really enjoyed the format and style. I have one poem that I wrote in that format. “Chasing Dreams”….so true and real. A story needing to be told. I love it! The picture really compliments the poem! Great piece!
