The day wasn’t good. In all, there were a lot of ill-founded theories going around the office. Rumors spread fast at the water cooler I guess. None of them were true, I knew, and tried to keep my mind composed. I wasn’t that impatient a person. Of course, I’d illustrated the ill-effects of idling employees earlier that week, and all that ill-will against me was obvious in those rumors. But like all ill-gotten results, they subsided when their initiator was caught. He’d taken it a little too far. The senior members of the office board took immediate action and terminated his contract. It wasn’t a silent exit though. A low blow, an insult aimed at my mother, and I lost that patience. A barrage of foul mouthing ensued, and the irked mind remained heated through the rest of the day.
Just as I was about to hit out at another innocent employee, the cool winter breeze entered the office, and the inviting sounds from the bamboo wind chime focused my mind once again. I realized I’d given some unwanted stick to many of my colleagues that afternoon, so I went to them and apologized. They understood my position. The chime’s invitation to calmness was one I couldn’t turn down.
Written for Z to A in 26 Days Challenge

Thursday Tales – Tale # 34

Well, we’re 18 days done in the Z to A challenge for November. I’m delighted to have seen more than 20 writers participate, and I’m quite happy with the way it has turned out so far. Many writers have done all the posts, and on time, each day too. Many, due to their personal reasons, have missed a few letters. So, I’ve decided to make this Sunday, 21st November, as CATCH UP SUNDAY. On Sunday, if you want to write on any letter you’ve missed, you are welcome to do so. You can even write another take on any letter (up to the letter I) if you wish to. Thanks for your interest in my challenge, and for getting it to this point. Here’s to the further letters!!
Taking up the Z to A in 26 Days Challenge? The details are HERE, and the challenge enters Round 18 and I today, but you are welcome to start now and proceed to further letters. The letter I theme has begun at 12 AM Indian Standard Time (Click to view the Time) on 20th November 2010 and will continue till 01:30 PM Indian Standard Time on 21st November 2010.. All participants can share their I themed post links here in the comments section. If your comment has a timestamp on 20th November 2010, or before 01:30 PM on 21st November, your entry is officially considered as part of the challenge! If your comment doesn’t come immediately, it’d be because you need to have a prior approved comment at the blog. I’ll moderate them as soon as I can, and you should have no problems after that. Happy Challenge to you all. Have an inspired November!
I think I commented a bit too much yesterday. I can’t think of a single word to say to you now.

This story was brief yet very gripping. A plethora of words from ‘I’ came together to weave a tale of an irksome experience. Ah, let the wagging tongues die a death of shame!!!!!
Though emotions seemed rife in the narrations I really hope this isn’t from personal experience!!!!
I have written something out of personal experience though!!!!

yeah.. death of shame to those tongues for sure, Vibz 🙂

Ah, the wonderful invitation of the wind chime to awareness and a humble admission. Mine are chiming now and we are anticipating the arrival of 8″ of snow tonight. Here is my “I” for Introspection. I also submitted it to Big Tent Poetry. It’s a cascade.
