Insatiable

Under cover
Of darkness,
Satin sheets,
Night’s blanket;
Eyes burning
With passion
Of true love,
Curious hands
Feeling each
Other, touch
On naked skin,
Soft like velvet;
Exploring the
Body, fine in
Movement;
Tight in grip,
Tender in care,
Heart beats
Hastened in
Just an instant.

My lips search
For hers, hers
For mine; we
Become one.
Later, as the
First rays of
Dawn emerge,
Awaken us,
And she walks
Away, grace
In movement,
Eyes desirous
Of more nights;
I understand,
Love truly
Is insatiable

Poetry & writing to me are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.

  1. Aaah a scene out of a typical romcom brought before the eyes vivdly through words.. Superb!
You should have left the beauty of those words linger on.
There wasn;t any need for that picture but then again, its only my opinion!
    😀

    • umm, I know, but it sort of felt empty without an image, Vibz 🙂 so chose that one..
glad u liked the wordplay…and felt there was beauty there 😀 thanks very much..

  2. well done LEO —

i like this as a fine starting point for a sensually erotic poem — I think you should continue the piece to go beyond the romantic, writing this time with your eyes closed, seeing the scene as the private passion unfolds, describing it to yourself — making that unfiltered description the balance of the poem…

  3. Great work Leo!! 😀 (opinion from the corner of my eye) 😛

Rob K says it all. 🙂

Looks like you’re in a seriously mushy romantic mood 😉

I prefer your “usual” poems and those humor ones. IMO. 🙂

    Good luck with Potluck 😉

  4. There is nothing much left to say….I think Rob Kistner has beautifully summarized your poem. And as Vibzz says, a typical romantic novel style poem. 🙂 You have done well in this romantic field too 🙂

    Happy Writing!! 😀

  5. Diwali – The Festival of Lights is just around the corner. 🙂

We should be on a short vacation down south. Will be meeting a blogger friend of ours there, HOPEFULLY!! 😉 and then flying in to Vibzz and The U at Pune. 😀

Our posts for the Z to A Challenge 😀 have been scheduled and should hopefully 😉 turn up each day till we get back. 🙂 Happy Halloween and hope the gala is a smashing hit!!! 😀

Very sorry 🙁 we’ll miss commenting on your lovely posts. 🙂
Hopefully we will manage to catch up with the backlog… 🙂

We shudder to think of that pile up!! 🙁

Have a great time and a Happy Diwali well in advance!! 😀

  6. This was Hot stuff, Leo!! And yet gain, a very very different style by you! Fantastic!

Variation’s the name of the game, baby!! Verse on, my friend..
    This one’s a treat alright!! 🙂

  7. Is it OK to say that I enjoyed this, without being taken out of context..? 😉 Hmmm, nice play of words, picture depicts tenderness and passion, great post for the theme Leo!
    🙂

  8. Wow! I just flushed a bit! “curious hands” that is my favorite…so simple but evokes so much on many levels.

This is sexy and loving Leo! I hope to be in a place like your poem very soon tee hee

  9. Very suggestive.. LOLsss
Very sensual..!! Side effects of falling in Love- again.. 🙂

  11. Vivid, tasteful, reminds me of some of the better-sex stuff I used to write when I wrote erotica. That is, immediately work-immersive – the picture adds to the work in a positive way.

  12. Nice, lots of passion and covering the gambit of challenges too! The underlying passion of it all, making sure it all fits! Thanks for sharing this wonderful piece!

  13. “Love truly
    Is insatiable”

That is a great conclusion to your deeply felt poem, Leo. You made me think how it is true across all expressions of it. The more we love all, them more we want to experience loving across the board. We long for it, feel sorrow at its lack, give it unconditionally, in so many areas of life. Life can be a romance, and your statement tells the truth. Ah, if we only were Lovers, what a different world it would be. Thank you so much for making me think in the broadest terms for your lovely romantic and satisfying poem.

    Warm wishes,
    Suzanne

  14. there comes a song to my mind…nights in white satin never reaching the end….nice one shot leo – and sure – who could get enough of sth so beautiful..

  15. Nice construction and fresh perspective with evocative language that respects its subject. The ending is neatly turned as well.

Thanks for your comments on my work, also.

  16. Leo, first time here – I don’t often participate in Scribs.

You are a true romantic… this one melted me! Hope we meet up on a prompt again soon. Love your layout on the blog, BTW.
