Morning mist has fallen
First rays arrive, beware
Magic love, depart now
Lest you fall to it, a prey
Cherie, it’s time, I leave
A warning, guard shouts
All morning, I wish love
You to stay in my arms
Make love; yet charms
The majestic sun rising
Over yonder mountains
Fair maiden, I bid adieu
I return in mask of night
Madly in love, I am now
Night, the maestro, plays
Our tune; stay my darling
Let us entice the morning
To continue the mystery
Unite again, as magnolias
Blossom and magpies cry
Beyond; make the world
Dance before our eyes
The sun has risen, he who
Owns the maiden’s heart
Returns; love now depart
You’ll be lost to them too
I’ll love you and leave you
Wait for magnificent night
To bring me back to you
In this meadow, once again
Join souls in love’s melody
Come soon, and till moon
Sets on us, we’ll be one at
Banks of meandering river
Away from meddling eyes
Moments die till we meet
Lonely lovers, don’t fret
Melancholy should resist
In night’s mask, you unite
Leave under morning mist

The poetry is of a form, Aubade, which is a dramatic conversation between lovers, happening at dawn. The voice of warning is of a guard, the man wanting to leave, and the lady wanting him to stay. The warning voice urges the lovers to depart, as the morning dawns.
Absolutely lovely. Your picture is as misty magical as your poem.
thanks Photowannabe 🙂 glad you liked the poetic image too 😀
I’ll love you and leave you

This is the perfect poem for a mysterious misty morning! Strangely I like mist( same word in Dutch), because it hides the other world behind the white cloud.

Beautiful love story and the entreaties of the lady are so soulful.
Her pleas are very gracefully answered by her beau to meet again at night.
Night has enchanting descriptions in your poem an Aubade very well written.
You can feel her love for him and his delicate complex understanding of her emotions.
Made an excellent read in this form of poetry.
yeah.. the aubade is dramatic to such an effect, Nanka 🙂 glad you could feel the beautiful love story! yeah.. he wants to meet her at night too! 😀 it’s one of my favorite forms, this is the third one I’ve written! 🙂

There is something gently honorific within this piece that touched me. I also enjoy your creative and innovative use of italics here. Nicely done, Leo.

Luke @ WordsSalad
hehe 🙂 the italicized M words lend an effect, as well as indicate the M words, literally! 😉 glad you liked the poem, Luke! 😀
brilliant would also be an understatement for this Leo… the way u went about with every line, every word – it was just amazing….
//Outstanding line:
Madly in love, I am now
Night, the maestro, plays
Our tune; stay my darling
Let us entice the morning
To continue the mystery
Unite again, as magnolias
Blossom and magpies cry
Beyond; make the world
Dance before our eyes

I thought this was an interesting and beautiful poem. Well handled. I didn’t know and aubade defined this type of poem. I have a poem about a child that was set in the early morning that I named Aubade for Anna; but perhaps it’s mistitled if it should be a love poem. I never knew that. But I think you did a very good job with this one. Thanks, Gay @beachanny
Aubade is usually romantic, since it is a dialog between lovers, Holly Heir! perhaps the child poem was mistitled 🙂 it is possible 😀 glad you liked how I took this one! 🙂
Beautiful piece you’ve got here, very romantic. Delightful imagery throughout, and wonderful phrasings…truly puts the poem to vision before our eyes. Lovely stuff!
thanks Chris. glad you liked the imagery and visual effect of the poem 😀 thanks for stopping by!
