Purifying lives
But losing purity
Water maligned
Every sin in it
Washed in hope
Cleansing aura
As we try to
Get liberation
Life moves on
In each breath
We try to purify
Soul, soar again
Yet in life cycle
Air is maligned
Life giving earth
Given no respect
Becomes like a
Trash receptacle
Lacerated largely
All excuses lame
Yet fire purifies
Without losing
Its own lustrous
Labyrinthine way
Sacred rituals
Witnessed by it
Every element is
Life loving, yet
Three do lament
Longing for life
Like fire, for
It leads all life
Purifying lives
Still being pure

Leo – Love the way you dealt with the elements.
There is a sense of purifying and the conflict against that purification, longing and striving for the answers.

–Someone Is Special–
thanks SiS 🙂
Interesting meditation on the elements. Fire is a great purifier, consuming without being consumed.
BTW, an archaic meaning for “try”, the OSI prompt for this week, is to melt down in order to separate out impurities, to render some thing to its essence. Thought this was an interesting synchronicity, adding yet another dimension to the piece!
thanks a lot, Gabrielle 😀 yes, fire is indeed a purifier..! to be honest, I’d not much idea of that archaic meaning till you mentioned it.. but glad it worked out in favour of the poem, adding another dimension to it 🙂
Nice feelings and enjoyed reading it… thanks for sharing..
