The Uphill Road

It takes a lot of effort to compete with the big guns.

It was my first attempt, so I was really nervous.

“What’s your aim today?” someone asked me.

“To win of course”, I replied, mustering confidence.

“Do you feel the road will wind uphill all the way for you?”

“Not at all… It will be easy enough”, I said.

Later, I found out… the road did wind uphill.

It wasn’t easy pedaling up the French hillside.

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.

  1. Uphill is difficult.. I have always wondered what about them who start at top.. and since no other heights seem around.. they have their journey downhill.. tell me Leo that must be more difficult..
