Reality Check 56 – The Eternal Question

If the heart says it is never wrong and the brain says it is always right, which do I listen to when making a decision?

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.

  1. It entirely depends on what the subject is and what the consequences will be. Sometimes you have to listen to your heart and at times, your brain. The trick lies in knowing when to listen to what. If you know that, no confusion, only solution. 🙂

  2. Learn to use your emotions to think, not think with your emotions.learning to think in spite of being emotionally charged is something i wod go for..here emotions means heart talk!!…:)

  3. @Meera,that's the problem. I don't know situation wise what seems right. more often than not, I end up doin the wrong option! 😉

  4. you've received some good advice already …but seriously, there will be times when you follow your heart & other times when you follow your brain & sometimes when you do both … and, none of those choices is inherently better than the other … but there will be times when one methodology works better than another – and, you will know it because it feels true.peace & love,JP/deb

  5. I would simply listen to what will make me happy, heart or mind, whahevah!!!! Bleh!!!But yes, right, this will remain an eternal question….:)

  6. If there's a question of choosing between the mind and the heart – The heart is always right… Mind is a creation of society… it has been educated and given to you by society, not by existence. The heart is unpolluted….i try and follow this most of the time…

  7. @Tweety,likewise.. even i follow heart most of the time.. still that anxiety b4 making the decision is always there.

  8. You know…your Heart and Brain are actually in sync. They are saying the same thing, but the languages are different!! You've just got to translate and there you have your answer!! 😉
