A New Dawn Again

Deep in my eyes
Resided a dream
It made me whole
It seemed close
Yet much distant
Etched in my soul

Yearned it a lot
Wished to be true
Waited for the day
Obstacles jumped
I reached so near
But it slipped away

A moment stuck
That pain in heart
That despair within
Lost in this world
Felt hopelessness
Like drowned in sin

Dark night trapped
Thoughts of gloom
Wind relieved fear
As I walked alone
My burden lesser
Escaped a lone tear

The horizon bright
Revealed a smile
After night of pains
Burning once more
In my eyes the fire
Dream dawned again

Poetry & writing to me are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.

  1. The melancholy, sadness, thoughts and words in this poem are very touching. Transgression from despair to hope is beautifully described in five verses. I like poems that end bringing a new dawn after all the unhappiness!! πŸ˜€
