Defining The Amateur Poet..

Blogsville has always been surprising for me. Unlike all other SNS, people don’t fake here, or well, they cannot fake here. Hundreds and thousands of minds reflect their thoughts, insights, happiness, sadness, fear, anything and everything through their writings. And in the process, they end up reflecting their true inner-self. That’s what makes this place special. And the people here super-special.

One such person (apart from me 😉 ) is The Amateur Poet – Leo a.k.a Vinay a.k.a the person-who’s-book-we-are-gonna-buy-in-future :D. Trust me, I could never figure out why such brilliant mind has named himself amateur..modesty, I guess. 😛

And may be it’s his modesty only, apart from his friendliness, humorous, positive and motivating attitude, that he asked me, ME to write a guest post on his blog. I haven’t written any guest post so far, and writing one for that person who is your poetry guru is simply unbelievable.

I was so thrilled by the idea itself that for a second I forgot my pen is jammed from so many days. Sadly, I haven’t written anything bearable like from ages and here I am all set to make a big blunder on vinay’s blog. So people gear up, here goes my dedication for The Amateur Poet.

The concrete jungles of the
Heartless city,
Ending emotions,
Abandoning imaginations,
Maddening everybody.
All this and many evil,
Torturing creative minds,
Ending the civilization
Under which poetry thrives.
Rejecting the fear and friction
Planting seeds of a new dawn,
Occurred the boy with
Enchanting poetry forms,
The Amateur Poet.

Saving her heads from rotten tomatoes and eggs..signing off..
This is Heena a.k.a Gulshan. 🙂

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.
