A New Dawn

The night is done
Lovers be a wary
First light nears
Take your leave
I give a warning
Bid adieu dears

Entangled in you
This night passes
So quick, my love
Sign of morning
Approaches soon
I must leave now

Why to fear now?
Let it come dear
Still joined we’ll be
Make love at noon
All morning, night
No one shall see

The night is done
Lovers be a wary
First light nears
Take your leave
I give a warning
Bid adieu dears

Am I your love?
I know not dear
Time is now gone
Icarusian it’ll be
If I didn’t listen
To voice of dawn

Adieu my dear
I shall lament
This dawn now
Blanket of night
I shall wait for
That brigs love

The night is done
Lovers be a wary
First light nears
Take your leave
I give a warning
Bid adieu dears

Adieu my darling
Back I shall be
In cover of night
With eager eyes
I will await you
To ease my plight

Poetry & writing to me are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.

  1. First time to read an Aubade form of poetry…and it's quite beautiful…:)Is it restricted to some exchange of words from lovers and a warning from a certain voice?Btw, I like it!

  2. Thanks to: Amity.yes. it is usually restricted to that. an aubade is more like a story in words so it will be long & dramatic. the warning voice is mostly from the watchman! 🙂

  3. Thanks to: Rob.hehe.. its not my love Rob.. poetry is my love for sure, but am single for now! 🙂 glad u liked it!
