Don’t Shed A Tear For Me

Don’t shed a tear for me
I’m not worth that at all
I’m a traveler in this life
Searching for port of call

Don’t shed a tear for me
I’m just on my way out
Searching for the heavens
Awaiting His silent shout

Don’t shed a tear for me
I realize words can hurt
Yet if they weren’t there
Life would seem absurd

Don’t shed a tear for me
You I may never leave
Memories are much more
My heart cannot deceive

Don’t shed a tear for me
I’ll follow your shiny tears
Slide my finger alongside
And wipe away your fears

Don’t shed a tear for me
I’d rather see your smile
For you mean such a lot
You’re there all the while

Don’t shed a tear for me
I’d rather they be forgot
Just a passerby in this life
Yet in your every thought

Poetry & writing to me are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.
