A blanket of rain covered her, but she still sat there, in that bench.

I went and sat next to her, lifted her chin. She was crying. I smiled and wiped her eyes, though I couldn’t tell them apart from the raindrops.

“I’ve had so many dreams, yet I don’t know why they seem to slip away from me. People hate me I think, no one cares what I want. Why do you want to sit with me? You’ll get hurt too”, she whispered.

I held her hand, gave her a hug and whispered back, “Stop being silly. If friends can’t understand the little things that go wrong, then who can? I didn’t take your hand before for nothing. You may hurt me, but still I shall hold on.”

The world may have walked by us, but we sat there. Two best friends, holding each other’s hands, knowing that even infinity could not separate their friendship anymore.

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.
