To My Li’l Angel

There is someone who knows me quite well, who has listened to my dull rants when I’ve been feeling down & out.

There is someone who I love a lot, sometimes even more than my mum. Someone I love to irritate every moment.

There is someone who loves music as much as me, and turns to me when she wants some songs desperately.

There is someone who loves me a lot too, and (tries to)irritate me a lot as well, who wants treats for small things too.

There is someone who fights with me over the remote, likes to wear saree and be formal dressed.(she’ll kill me for this!)

There is someone who wants to do the same course as me and is enthusiastic in whatever she does or wants to do.

There is someone who is my student in Maths, in shuttle and sometimes in general too. I love helping her out.

There is someone who is part of this space of mine more than any other member of my family; she knows it too.

That certain someone is turning eighteen years old today, and like last year, I wish to wish her a happy birthday here.

An angel I have
In my little life
A darling she is
I love her a lot
Though we fight
My dearest sis

Eighteen years
It turns today
Since she came
Into my life
Dearest cousin
Sweet & same

That certain someone, my sister Anu(don’t call her my cousin, we’ve been siblings itself) might read this today. Usually she knows I wish her on my blog. I wish her the happiest eighteenth birthday and a year ahead filled with joy and success.

Happy Birthday da.

PS: Hey you silly little sister of mine, I want treat. Chocolate cake at M&M or Amma’s ok? Or a Cornetto atleast! 🙂

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.
