Neglected Elders

Nights of silent tears
Elusive love of dears
Gone are days when
Love showed the way
Every kissed wound dried
Caring hearts have died
Tragic life never lied
Emaciated is this mind
Denied love from kind

Escape seems far away
Lucid darkness of day
Dreams and hopes stay
Ever true, always erect
Reality though does say
Starved aura of neglect

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.

  1. Dear Vinu, Good After Noon! It's a lovely and timely thought,Vinu.Every Sunday one channel does a programme on the inamtes of old age homes. One celebrity interviews them and it is so touching to hear the bitter experiences. We can do our share, yaar!By small and simple kind gestures,By soft and kind words,By making them feel we love them,We will be there when they need us,Giving protection and care,To live a meaningful life,We should never forget that,What we enjoy is the benefitsOf the sacrifices of our ancestors!Wishing you a wonderful Sunday, Sasneham, Anu
