Domestic Violence

Dying passions escalate
Only hatred residing
Magical affections once
Enjoyed with desire
Slowly starts fading
Trusted hands torture
Intimately scarring hearts
Charring cherished moments

Victimized by obsessions
Internal chaos reign
Open pleading for
Love goes discarded
Every moment forgotten
No return foreseen
Candlelight dies out
Eternal darkness reigns

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.

  1. What a rendition though the prompt is just too sad a word! You presented the whats and how abouts of being victims of domestic violence…Now, tell me, isn't ur muse workin right now?It is… 🙂

  2. Unfortunately Leo I can relate to your very true words, 9 years after being widowed I met "Someone" who I thought was a charming considerate gentleman, many bruises and knocks later I left, I thought I had a second chance of happiness how wrong I was. Thanks for highlighting this topic as it goes on more widespread than many people know.Yvonne.
