Faint
Awareness
Diminishing
Each day
All memories
Woven of love
Abandon me as
You call me back

I’ve tried to visualize from a different point of view. A person suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, suffers the most painful death perhaps. To spend those last moments with the memory of your loved ones and your favorite moments fading away, its the saddest death. My heart goes out to such people.
Hai Vinay, Good post..I too agree with u. what is our personal joy of life, if memories fade away ..?? 🙁 ..i cant even imagine.
This was just so heart-warming!Beautiful…I mean, its kinda making me think about our future and what awaits us in the end..but my heart, right now going out to many who share the pain..Written well but conveyed the message, even better!Keep writing..:)
Pramoda, neither can i… fading memories will dimnish the joy for sure…
Fiduciayeah, it makes me think too… i'd be sad if this happens to anyone! my heart goes out to them too..
I remember reading this and commenting on it. as you won an AO award for it .. but I don't see my comments. Have you lost the all?
My grandmother passed away almost 3 years ago (September 14th, 2006) to the day that you posted this. She succumbed, finally, to Alzheimers. However, the hard part was watching her drift away slowly. We mourned her for years before her death, at least I did. This was very touching and very well done. Thank you.
soo sad dear:(…i feel really bad..:(.very well expressed :(..but reality is too depressing
Amias, you read it in my other blog dear. last night, was very tired, so didn't write anything new. just crossposted! 🙂
Bethany,oh i'm so sorry. yes, i can understand that… watching a loved one drift away wwithout return is sad..
I understood the poem after reading your footnote. I read it again, and I was touched. You have admirably expressed it. Well done 🙂
