Temptation

Tempted the wind to the leaf,
I’ll take you places you’ve never been,
Show you that what you’ve never seen,
Conceive what you once did dream,
Come with me, let me set you free.

Tempted the leaf left its home,
And in the wind, began to fly,
It felt joy, when it touched the sky,
A moment and its dreams did soar,
Unsatisfied, it now wanted more.

The tempting wind, now scorned,
Left the leaf to fall to the ground,
Cried the leaf, none heard the sound,
Miserable, it tried to go back home,
It found in misery, it was all alone.

Poetry & writing to me are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.
