My first word, I remember till now,
I saw her face, and I fell in love,
Looked up at her, and in to her eyes,
“Mummy”, I said and then she cries.
My first friend, I still have by my side,
A year to me younger, yet always my pride,
My best friend, and rival, combined into one,
A friendship strong, like the spider’s web spun.
My first poem, I remember that well,
Whilst dreaming, in history period hell,
A butterfly I saw, it inspired me,
I wrote about it, how it was so free.
My first kiss, how could I forget?
As we sat in the garden, watching the sunset,
She took my hand, held it in her own,
Her lips touched mine, as we sat alone.
My first prize, I still cherish a lot,
It is deep in my heart, never forgot,
It was a medal, or a cup that I loved,
It was a hug and a kiss, from my sister beloved.
My first gift, I got from a friend,
Alas I could not, keep till the end,
She gave me a rose; I kept it till it died,
I still have its petal; love it though it has dried.
I have many firsts, that I cherish always,
They all speak to me, a story each says,
They all are in my heart, very special each to me,
Lucky enough, I won’t have…a first memory.
I found a post relating to memorable firsts, in My Inner World‘s blog. She wanted to know her friends’ memorable firsts as well. So I have taken it up like a tag, and done it. Anyone who is willing can continue the trend, and share their memorable firsts.
