Amber light, that fades away,
Into black night, that comes my way,
Through the clouds, the light does flow,
As I watch the sky, back to their homes they go
A group of birds, so always together,
Fly so well, like bound by a tether,
Not do they fight, to be the first one,
Helping each other, fly past the setting sun
It makes me wonder, makes me sad,
Why we can’t be like them, always so glad,
They do not fight, as they fly so high,
Kings and queens, all in the blue sky
Free, to fly, whenever they wish,
Nothing to tie them down, hold them back,
Yet my heart, is not like that now,
That little freedom that I crave, I lack
Just once, I want to fly,
Without these chains, with glee,
Just once, I want to chase my dreams,
Like the beautiful birds, I want to be free
