The Dance…

Music played inside; I stood,
Waiting, in the lawn,

For her, to come to my side,

My love, to whose side I was drawn

I saw her, as she left her car,
My heart, flew to her arm,
Beautiful she was, in stunning white,
A twinkle in her eye, unique charm

I took her hand, and walked inside,
Through the throng of friends, we went,
Looked in her eyes, and saw that love,
My heart skipped a beat, to moments we spent

I led her, to the floor,
We danced to the beat, slow,
Her hand on my shoulder, mine on her hip,
We could have danced forever, I know

When the dance was over,
I knelt, on one knee,
And for the world to hear, I asked,
Darling, will you marry me?

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.
