In Memoriam…

Darkness shrouds me; I am unable to see the light

Joy seems to travel farther away, misery my companion

Hope is all I have left with me, but it is weak I find these days
A moment I realize is all it takes, for a transition

A smile I could see, on faces that I knew not then
They knew not their lives would change, forever in a moment
A flash of light was all they saw, leading them away
Toward heavens above they had not sought then, unwillingly they went

A cry of anguish I heard, I echoed them with my silence
I could not do more but weep, as I saw hearts melt to tears
Not a soul I saw that day, who did not echo my feelings
Who could see the losses dear, as the smoke clears

For no reason I could think, they deserved this fate
They were not evil to me, neither to Him above
It pains me to see, a life so beautiful taken from them
When all they did in their life was to care and love

Whoever did this cruel act, they have not a heart within
For when they took an innocent life, they did not shed a tear
No reason they can give, will justify what they did
They shall one day lose too, their life which they hold dear

No place shall they find, in heavens above
Their sins condemn them, to hell’s fury below
Satan, my friend, they are yours to take when they die
Give them their reward, for evil seeds they once did sow

In heavens above, I know many a soul
For whom here on earth, many a heart weeps
I can’t console them, they weep for whom they love

May their souls Rest in Peace

(I dedicate this poem…to all who died in the blasts at Bangalore and Ahmedabad on Friday & Saturday,25th & 26th of July 2008… as well as to their loved ones. Also to all souls above who died a cruel death like this which they did not deserve...)

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.
