The Hidden Heart

In this world so radiant with joy

Every one has something to hide

Some horrid truth they conceal within
Close to their heart so like a sin

Not even in their closest friends to confide
They tell not this to the world aloud
Yet that silence itself speaks to we
That secret burns within them so
See their face and we can know
Deep within that they crave to be free

Their eyes speak for their heart
Tell us what they long to say
They tell us of a grief untold
Of pains they saw and dreams they sold
Of obstacles that made them lose their way

What the heart conceals
Is not hidden always
For the mind is hard to see
It changes its thoughts constantly
Like in the breeze the leaf sways

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.
