Dreaming of a Boon

The Lord once came down to earth
And asked me a question this
“What, my son, do you cherish?

Body or mind which holds bliss?

Success or failure both I can give
For which, dear child, do you pray?
Tell me, my son, what you want
So that I may send it your way. “

I looked into his eyes and said
“My Lord, thou art very kind
But different are my desires
They are always so fulfilled I find.

I pray thee not give me just one
For I cherish one as much as the other
They hold value in my life
I hold their hands like a brother.

Body or mind, which holds bliss?
In that question there is something amiss
How can one be without the other?
My Lord, please tell unto me this.

Success or failure, which I crave?
Both have I met in my life
Success has brought me joys aplenty
Failure so far only strife.

But learnt have I from the failures I met
To take every chance that I get
Only then shall I reach the top
Even then my efforts shall not stop.

My Lord you are kind
Please give to me this boon
That I shall get both in my life
To turn failure into success soon.

Both mind and body
Shall work for this goal of mine
A success I shall be for sure
From now till the end of time. “

The Lord looked at me
And said to me these words
“May all your dreams come true my child
From now let life only take you forwards.“

Poetry & writing to me are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.
